Do you have plans this Saturday? Either way, you’ll for sure want to take a stroll through downtown Napanee Saturday to take in the sights and sounds of Culture Days.
myFM spoke with Greater Napanee Event Coordinator, Becky Hinch, who told us more about Culture Days.
There is music and entertainment planned in for Market Square, Conservation Park, and throughout the downtown core.
The schedule is as follows:
In Market Square, at 10am there will be an opening ceremony featuring an Indigenous prayer and some singing by Mandy Smart and Krista Loft. 10:30am, Peggy Collins, illustrator and author. 10:45am, author Grace Vanderzande will do a reading from her book. 11am, suthor Rick Revelle will also be doing a reading from his own book. 11:15am, Steven Medd will be taking the stage to perform some music. Then from 1-4pm, there will be youth music with Harmony Lounge.
Along Dundas Street beginning at 10am, Steven Tanner will be performing at Ellena’s Cafe. 11am, Celtic Strings will be performing at Divine while Claire Cooper performs at Blush. 12:30pm they switch locations with Claire performing at Divine and Celtic Strings performing at Blush. The Cauldren Sisters will also be out and about.
There will also be interactive art including chalk, colouring, and even canvases that they’d like if you came and added something to, creating a beautiful piece of art made by the community.
