It’s set to be a great day of hockey in support of a great cause.
The Quinte Detention Centre’s hockey team has invited the Montreal Canadiens Alumni to town for a game.
The game is set to go Sunday, November 19th at the Strathcona Paper Centre.
Tickets are currently on sale through eventbrite. There is general admission, a students/seniors rate and VIP tickets. VIP will include access to a pregame tailgate, the game and the post game autograph session with the Habs and Quinte C/Os.
myFM spoke with C/O Fraser MacAlpine, who told us money raised will be going to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
The first 6 Montreal Canadiens have been announced for the game. #25 Mathieu Dandenault, who enjoyed a 13-year career in the National Hockey League, including four seasons with the Canadiens, #26 Pierre Dagenais, who played five years in the NHL, with New Jersey, Florida and Montreal, #36 Sergio Momesso, member of the 1986 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens, #44 Stéphane Richer, drafted by the Canadiens in 1984, #45 Gilbery Dionne, drafted by the Canadiens in 1990 and won the Stanely cup in ’93, and coach Chris Nilan, who holds the NHL record for most penalties in a single game with 10 in 1991. He played 13 seaons in the NHL, 10 of which were with the Montreal Canadiens. He is a winner of one Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1986.
