Premier Doug Ford wraps up three days of meetings in Winnipeg today after addressing healthcare yesterday.
The issue has topped concerns in our listening area and beyond for years. Ford says he’s grateful for the $46 billion in new funding from the feds, but the system needs an overhaul.
Staffing remains a focus for local hospitals as frequent nightly closures due to staffing shortages continue to plague our ERs. The Canadian Medical Association says little has changed to fix the situation in the past few months. Ford says we’ll continue to lead the way for good healthcare.
Ford says healthcare delivery must change though, alluding to private clinics providing services paid for by OHIP to reduce backlogs.
