$60,000 is being put back into the community to help with research for prostate cancer.
The Kingston-Quinte Ride for Dad has raised over $1.6 million since 2009, for the fight against prostate cancer in the region.
During a cheque presentation in Kingston this afternoon (Monday, June 26, 2023), Dr. Katrina Gee and Dr. Sebastien Talbot each received a $30,000 grant to further their research projects.
myFM spoke with Talbot, about what this funding means to him.
Also in attendance was local survivor, Dave Buttle of Napanee, who told us he thinks this is a great fundraiser.
This money that was handed out is from the Rides held in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Funds raised during the 2023 ride, $87,000, is set to be granted in 2024.
