Earlier this week, Greater Napanee Fire fighters joined the fight to contain a wild fire two hours north of Greater Napanee.
myFM spoke with Dean Martin, Fire Prevention Officer, who told us more.
Though the fire at Centennial Lake is now contained, the evacuation order for residents has been extended until today at 3 p.m.
Locally, many residents were surprised to find out Greater Napanee was not under a full burn ban. Martin told us why that is.
A partial burn ban will allow residents to light and maintain a campfire of no more than 60 cm in width by 60 cm in height, used for cooking, warmth and/or recreational enjoyment.
Martin provided some tips to keep in mind when burning.
