The OPP is ready for the unofficial start to summer, the Victoria Day Long weekend.
It will also wrap up Road Safety Week in Canada.
Constable Joe Tereschuk says there’s a lot of people who are anxious to get back to warm-weather-relaxing.
Adding to potential headaches, is that construction season is just getting underway, so he says give yourself lots of time and prepare for delays.
They’ll be wathcing for the big four offenders: speeders, those under the influence of alcholo or drugs, distracted drivers, and seat belt violators.
In addition to the roads, the Constable says officers will be keeping a close eye on the waterways and trails. He says no matter how you get from spot to another, make sure alcohol isn’t a part of your trip.
