Loyalist Township is excited to host a Family Fishing Day event in connection with Ontario Family Fishing Events this weekend!
Saturday, May 13th, from 10am until 2pm, families are invited out for a day of fun at the Neilson Store Museum & Dock located at 5220 Front Road, Stella, Amherst Island.
myFM spoke with Loyalist Township Mayor Jim Hagedorn, who says it’s going to be a jammed pack time for families.
Families can take part in the fishing, which will take place on the newly constructed dock behind the Neilson Store.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own fishing rods and life jackets.
To attend, families can take a trip on the Amherst Island Ferry. Or, Hagedorn tells us there will be a free shuttle service being offered.
There will also be local sponsors and industry professionals in attendance with booths to showcase and share water safety tips and information on invasive species, natural habitats, impact of pollution, and much more!
They would like to extend a thank you to their sponsors, DM Boat Sales, Loyalist Cove Marina, Napanee District Rod and Gun Club, and Kingston Canadian Tire, for making this possible.
The event is free for all to enjoy; however, pre-registration is required. Register now by visiting loyalist.ca/events.
