It’s been over a week since public service workers went on strike, crippling some government services.
One of those services most of us wouldn’t think about includes staff at schools run by Indigenous Services Canada, which have had to shut down.
That includes Quinte Mohawk School on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in Deseronto, where 300 kids are out of school, including Danielle Brants kids. She says the strike has been tough.
She also says its been tough on her young children who have spent the past three years in and out of school.
Others in the same situation think the schools should be deemed essential so they stay open.
We reached out for comment from Indigenous Services Canada, but they said a response would be delayed… due to the strike.
