Why celebrate Earth Day on just one day, when you can spread it over two weekends! That’s exactly what the Town of Greater Napanee is doing this year.
myFM spoke with Kylie Huffman, Community Programming Clerk, who says day of, Saturday, April 22nd, an Earth Day clean-up will be taking place throughout the community.
All collected waste must be on the curb for collection no later than 7am Tuesday, April 25th. Bags will be collected between the 25th and 28th.
The Town of Greater Napanee will also be hosting its second community giveaway day. This is a great day to rehome unwanted items you come across while spring cleaning. Items can be placed on the curb April 22nd, from 7am to 7pm. Unclaimed items must be taken back inside by 7pm.
Anyone interested in free items from the town that they have listed as surplus, is required to bring your own moving supplies and to move it yourself.
Community members are asked to register for both the community clean-up and giveaway day on the Town’s Website.
The following weekend, Saturday, April 29th, the Town will be hosting a tree seedling giveaway at the Strathcona Paper Centre.
Huffman told us what tree’s will be available, while supplies last.
