As of April 1st, anyone visiting the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital will notice a few changes.
The hospital is lessening of pandemic related restrictions. This means:
- There will be no staff-guided screening process. This means that when you enter through the doors of the hospital you will see a sign that asks you to self-screen yourself for infectious symptoms, put on a mask provided by the Hospital, and sanitize your hands.
- Visitation will be guided by the pre-pandemic family presence policy. Please do not visit if you feel unwell.
- Visitors and caregivers for residents living in Convalescent Care will no longer be required to test for COVID prior to attending the Home if they do not have COVID symptoms.
“After three years of restrictive visitation, we are happy to be welcoming community members once again” says Christine Wilkinson, Chief Nursing Officer/VP Patient & Resident Services.
As of April 1, 2023, in addition to the changes listed above, members of the community will once again be able to visit the Hospital for reasons other than attending an appointment or providing caregiving. Community members will be welcome to come in to talk to the Volunteers, visit the Foundation office, grab a bite to eat from the Auxiliary Coffee Shop, or attend the Community Corridor Art Shows.
The first Art Show returning to the Community Corridor will be ready for viewing on April 17th and run for 6 weeks.
Local artists wishing to participate in future art exhibits are invited to contact Sarah Fiddler, Administrative Assistant at (613) 354-3301 x416 for additional information.
