After six years funding has been committed to by the Ministry of Long-Term Care, to begin construction on a new project that will replace the current Providence Manor in Kingston. Vice-President, Corporate Services and Executive Director at Hospice Kingston Krista Wells-Pearce talked about what been the reason for the delay in construction to this new facility, which will be located within Providence Village.
Wells-Pearce told us when the doors to the new facility will open, which will be located within Providence Village.
Residents at the current facility will not be impacted until the day comes to move to the new facility.
The new 320 bed facility will see the doors open to current and new residents in late 2026.
