The Napanee Area Community Health Centre is hosting a Youth Peer Support Program and workshop in collaboration with Resolve Counselling Services.
myFM spoke with Shannon Ruddy, NACHC Community Development Worker, who says this Friday, November 25th, they’re inviting youth between the age of 15 and 24 who would like to complete the Youth Peer Support Program and workshop.
Topics that will be covered include suicide alertness and response, introduction to peer support, recovery, compassionate and reflective listening and boundary setting. The safe talk kits for youth are possible thanks to a grant from Community Foundation on Lennox and Addington.
The youth peer support program from Resolved Counselling is a community mental health initiative supported by the United Way of KFL&A. The program aims to provide additional mental health support for local youth by connecting them with other young people with similar lived experience.
This free program runs Friday from 11:30am until 4pm at their office located 26 Dundas Street West in Napanee. A pizza lunch will be provided.
