Have your gotten your tickets yet for the viewing of The Secret Marathon? This award winning documentary film is going to be playing in Kingston at The Screening Room Tuesday, October 18th.
myFM spoke with Tarra Williamson, National Race Director of The Secret 3K, who told us about the documentary.
Parnell heard of all of her trials and tribulations while training and how it wasn’t safe for her to train for the marathon out in public. Parnell and Kate McKenzie then traveled to Afghanistan in 2016 to run the marathon, where they met Zainab and other women who were going to run that year, and they filmed a documentary on it.
Williamson says The Screen Room in downtown Kingston has been very generous in letting them use their facility to screen The Secret Marathon film.
Tickets are required in advance and will not be available at the door. They can be purchased at Secret3K.com.
This film has also inspired a global run/walk event. Williamson told us about the 6th annual Secret 3K coming up this spring.
