It was an exciting night at the Strathcona Paper Centre, as the Napanee Raiders opened their regular season with a 6-1 win over the Amherstview Jets.
Scoring started in the first period with Adam Nuttall for a 1-0 start for the Raiders. The Jets quickly answer that with a goal by Andrew White making it 1-1. Before the period was over, Napanee’s Cameron Krupa scored, leading the raiders to a 2-1 score.
The second period saw three more goals for the Raiders by Blake Aylesworth, Cameron Krupa and Noah Jacobson bringing the raiders to a 5-1 lead.
To solidify that win, the Raiders scored again in the third period. Christos Chronis got the final goal of the game, leading to a 6-1 final score.
Napanee plays next next Friday, September 23 at the SPC against the Frankford Huskies. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
