100+ Women Who Care Lennox and Addington met last night to make a huge donation to a local charity.
There were 51 individual donors and 23 groups made up by 83 people, for a grand total of 134 women. Members can make a donation on their own of $100, or make a donation as part of a small group towards their $10,000 goal.
The room of women heard about three local charities before voting on which charity as a whole group they’d like to donate to. Money raised from this meeting will be going to support Lennox and Addington County Autism Network. A grand total will be shared once all of the donation have been counted.
Autism Network LAC advocates and promotes awareness for neurodiversity in our community. Recently they provided sensory kits to some local schools, the OPP, Fire fighters and EMS. During their presentation they said if they were nominated for the money, they’d use it towards supplying multiple sensory kits to every school in Lennox and Addington County. Each kit costs $100, so providing this many kits would cost around $8,000.
myFM spoke with Lori Morris, who told us when their next meeting to support a new charity will take place.
