Nominations for the 2022 Municipal election has closed and an official list of candidates has been released.
As the only candidate for mayor, Terry Richardson, current Councillor for Ward 2, was declared acclaimed by the town clerk.
Three individuals are looking to become Deputy Mayor. Candidates include current Councillor John McCormack, Brian Calver and Eric DePoe.
Seeking election in ward 1 is Tony Balasevicius, Matt Potwarka and Michael Schenk.
In ward 2 there’s Terry Cook, Angela Hicks and Les Humphries.
For ward 3 current Councillor Dave Pinnell Jr. is seeking re-election against Richard Pringle, John South and Don Stokes.
Ward 4 sees current Councillor Bob Norrie running against Jeff Chestnut and Josh Hayter.
In ward 5 Ellen Johnson is seeking re-relection against Bill Martin and Casey Wells.
For the school board elections, there is only one registered candidate for each. Tiffany Lloyd for Limestone District School Board, Jacqueline Fernandes for the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, Rachel Laforest for Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario and Michel Charron for Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.
