Charges were laid in a local attempt of the “grandparent” scam OPP recently warned to community of.
Lennox and Addington OPP were called to a Loyalist Township address on June 10th for a report of a fraud in progress. Officers attended and one person was arrested at this time.
A 46-year-old from Quebec has been charged with Fraud Over $5000 and Theft Over $5000.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and anyone having information should contact OPP.
