Greater Napanee residents are being reminded of the annual total burn ban in effect from April 1st until May 15th.
A Total Burn Ban prohibits lighting any fires in open air and prohibits any activities that may start a fire.
Putting a Total Burn Ban in place allows for spring vegetation to blossom, while also minimizing the unnecessary burden that grass and brush fires place on Fire Services resources, and ultimately Greater Napanee taxpayers.
The town says When the Total Burn Ban is lifted, and it is safe to have a backyard fire, please ensure that you obtain an open-air burning permit before having any fires at your home.
For more information on the Town’s Total Burn Ban, you can contact Fire Services at 613-856-2226, or visit their website.
