A donation of $25,000 was recently made to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation from Empey Hill United Church, who at the end of last years, closed their doors. The closure of the 109 year old church located on the Deseronto Rd. north of the Hwy 401, ended a 160 year history of church on Empey Hill.
myFM spoke with Reverend Mike Putnam, who told us about the closure of the church.
One of the final decisions made by the Empey Hill congregation was to approve some donations from the sale of the church.
The rest of the money from the sale went to Selby United Church for technology upgrades.
