For the fourth time in less than two years, local small businesses are dealing with pandemic restrictions, and they’re still coming up with creative ways to keep their doors open.
Ryan Mallough with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business tells us that outside the box thinking has been a key during the pandemic.
He’s impressed with how local restaurants, and even craft breweries, are engaging their regulars and new customers.
While offering online options like cooking lessons for restaurants and tasting parties for craft breweries may not be ideal, they do offer opportunities.
Another popular addition to many businesses are gift certificates or gift cards. Mallough says they offer a new avenue of revenue that many hadn’t considered. And they can introduce new, repeat customers.
