2022, and perhaps beyond, will see us locked in a wage-price spiral that makes the rising cost of staples a real pressure on Canada’s lower-income workers.
That’s an observation from Brian Doyle, of Doyle-Salewski, who maintains the supply-chain issues of just-in-time delivery that have been caused by COVID-19, and the market-manipulation of the housing price nest egg combine to leave those of lesser income scrambling.
Doyle cites a CBC article suggesting the hike, and believes Canadians earning between thirty and sixty thousand dollars a year are caught in a two-pronged squeeze.
He says lower income individuals and families are well aware of the daily pressures to survive, but other elements of our society ought only ignore the realities at their peril.
