Earlier this week Public Health announced a delay in the next shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
myFM spoke with Medical officer of health Dr. Piotr Oglaza, who provided an update.
Oglaza says they have an ample supply of the Moderna vaccine for other age groups. He reminds the community that both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are approved by Health Canada and use a similar mRNA technology, so the vaccines are interchangeable and safe to mix.
Recently third dose eligibility opened to Ontarians 18+ and some Ontarians are having a hard time booking an appointment. Locally, Public Health are opening more clinics to administer these doses.
Oglaza is asking the community to be patient while waiting for more appointments to be added to their booking links.
