Quinn’s Meats is going to increase its meat-processing capacity, which in turn should benefit local farmers.
Quinn’s Meats is one of a few abattoirs still operating in eastern Ontario.
Darold and Kara Enright took ownership earlier this year and are also planning to upgrade their on-site store to make room for more locally grown and produced food.
As beef farmers themselves, the Enrights are committed to the idea of local food, and understand the key role an abattoir can play in supporting local farmers and in improving local food production.
According to Kara, they are currently looking for experienced butchers and are willing to help offset relocation costs for the right individuals.
Quinn’s Meats was established in June of 1976 by Brian Quinn before being sold to the Enrights in February.
