It’s going to be another scorcher of a day in Greater Napanee and the surrounding area. Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for today. Temperatures are expected to be around 30 degrees but the added humidity will see temperatures climb to near 40. A reminder to stay hydrated and never leave pets or people inside of parked vehicles.
Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can cause the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
