Major money is being spent to help out festivals across Ontario, including in neighbouring communities.
As part of a 50 million dollar pledge by the province, seven festivals in Kingston, including Kingston Ribfest & Craft Beer Show and Music in the Square, are all receiving over $387,000.
In Prince Edward County, five festivals, including The Firelight Lantern Festival and ICE BOX: Art in the Heart of Winter, will receive over $89,000.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, says increasing support for festival and events will give the tourism sector a much-needed boost as we continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19.
