Lennox and Addington OPP laid multiple charges during a commercial vehicle enforcement initiative in Greater Napanee as part of Operation Safe Driver week.
This Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement initiative was conducted on July 16 by L&A OPP in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, and the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team.
Enforcement officers identified vehicles on area roadways and then directed them to a parking lot on Jim Kimmett Blvd to conduct safety inspections.
Seven different vehicles were removed from service because of safety or equipment issues identified during the inspections and one driver’s license was suspended for 3 days for registering above zero blood alcohol concentration at the roadside.
Officers laid a total of 16 charges for various safety and equipment violations or for failure to comply with commercial vehicle documentation requirements.
