Ontario Provincial Police say they were met with gunfire during a raid Friday morning in Prince Edward County.
The shooting took place while police were entering a private residence to arrest a person wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant. Police say they were told 34 year old Eric Wildman, a suspect in
a disappearance and homicide in rural Manitoba, could be in the area.
While a warrant was being executed at a residence near Belleville, police say they were fired on. No one was injured. A crisis negotiator convinced two people in the residence to surrender. Wildman, the man police say they were looking for, was taken into custody and turned over to the RCMP. A second person arrested is still being questioned by police.
