A new pilot program is set to run at Ontario’s busiest provincial parks this summer.
Starting June 7th, 17 parks, including Sandbanks, will allow visitors to go online or phone in to obtain daily vehicle permits in advance of their visit.
Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Jeff Yurek says this should hopefully avoid issues they saw last year and starting to see this year.
The goal is to collect the data from these locations and hopefully roll out the program to all provincial parks for 2022.
Beginning June 7th, you can book your day pass at ontarioparks.com/dayuse or by phoning 1-888-668-7275.
The following parks are part of the pilot project:
- Algonquin
- Arrowhead
- Batchawana Bay
- Craigleith
- Darlington
- Forks of the Credit
- Kakabeka Falls
- Kettle Lakes
- Lake Superior
- Long Point
- Mono Cliffs
- North Beach
- Presqu’ile
- Pinery
- Sandbanks
- Sibbald Point
- Turkey Point
