A proclamation request was brought forward by the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board at last nights town of Greater Napanee town council meeting.
BOQ Tourism asked the Town of Greater Napanee to be part of their celebrations. Napanee Mayor Marg Isbester read the recommendation to council.
Brandt Zatterberg, General Manager of Community & Corporate Services, chimed in the virtual meeting in saying that previous protocol had flags at North Fred Hall.
Councillor John McCormack had this to say in support of the request.
McCormacks comment was made by way of motion, that council make the proclamation that June is pride month and the pride flag will be flown at North Fredericksburgh Hall.
Councillor Ellen Johnson said in correspondence with the BOQ Regional Marketing Board Executive Director, he said he was happy to have them participate in the program, and if that is where everyone’s flag go, then they are very pleased to accept that as well.
The motion was carried by council.
