Kim Findlay is a volunteer at Sandy Pines wildlife Centre and can be found almost anywhere in the centre.
She says she can spend hours in the laundry room, cleaning out cupboards, cleaning animal cages, preparing dishes for the animals and so much more.
Kim first started at the centre nine and a half years ago after retiring and was looking for something to do, volunteering. She says, after admitting to having a soft sport for animals, that her husband came across an ad in a local news paper saying a wildlife centre is looking for volunteers, and just happened to be down the road from where they lived. So she went down, inquired about it, and has been there ever since.
Kim says not much has changed volunteering during the pandemic, other then the workload being higher due to less staff at the centre.
