The Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre is having it’s 2nd virtual baby shower fundraiser. It will be starting this Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. until Monday May 10, 2021 at 4 p.m.
This socially distant, family-friendly event is the only day of the year the Wildlife Centre will opens its doors to the public. Filmed by Education Coordinator, Jess Pelow, Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre Director, Sue Meech and Facilities Director Julia Evoy will take visitors through a virtual tour of the state-of-the-art clinic, see baby animal feeding demos and visit some areas at Sandy Pines that have never been seen before
This virtual event will feature many of their typical baby shower activities such as a 3-prize raffle, local vendors offering honey, jewellery, Sandy Pines merchandise and more. A link to this event will be available on their web site at www.sandypineswildlife.org and Facebook page.
This year, Hastings-Lennox & Addington MP Derek Sloan, recommended Sandy Pines for no Service Canada Summer Employment participants. As a charity they are usually eligible for several of these participants which helps immensely throughout their busiest season.
2021 saw an increase of around 64% more patients to date than last year at this same time and Sandy Pines is still here and working every day to help the wildlife. More than ever they need help from the community.
