Weapons and cash were seized during a police traffic stop in Greater Napanee.
OPP officers patrolling eastbound Highway 401 last Wednesday signalled the driver of a vehicle with heavily tinted windows, to pull over.
Police questioned the driver and searched the vehicle confiscating a Taser, bear spray, a passport and almost $40 thousand dollars in Canadian Currency.
The driver – a 30 year old from Toronto, was arrested and charged with a number of offences:
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by crime;
- Three counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous purpose;
- Possession of a prohibited device; and,
- Possession of an identity document.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 18, 2021.
