There are five new active cases of COVID-19 in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. Dr. Kieran Moore, medical officer of health with KFL&A Public Health says this is known as fourth generation spread and these cases had direct known contacts that already were COVID-19 positive. Dr. Moore says the individual that is hospitalized is a male in his early 50’s and had underlying health issues. The individual is said to be in stable condition in the intensive care unit. 65% of the active cases to date in the region have been female. The COVID-19 assessment centre at the Leon’s Centre is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m and the COVID-19 assessment centre in Greater Napanee is located at the LACGH Lenadco Complex and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
