A 22 year old man from Amherstview is facing a long list of charges after being arrested on a Canada wide warrant. On January 10th the Kingston Police sexual assault unit began an investigation into numerous incidents involving sexual and domestic assault. While living with the victim several incidents allegedly occurred over a six month period. The accused then fled to Quebec in early January and was later arrested by the ROPE squad with help from Surete du Quebec in Hebertville on March 31st. Kingston Police and the ROPE squad picked up the accused in Alma Quebec and transported him to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.
The man was charged with two counts of sexual assault, assault by choking, four counts of assault, two counts of choking, three counts of utter threats, utter threats to kill animals, utter threats to damage property, forcible confinement, and breach probation.
