It’s been almost two weeks since all nursing homes in the province were ordered to close their doors to non-essential visitors. The health of the vulnerable population is of paramount importance during this pandemic and measures such as this ensure these individuals are protected.
Times like these can be lonely for residents of nursing homes, as they no longer have family and friends coming to visit them. So, nursing home staff and their residents are finding creative ways to communicate with their loved ones.
Shirley Newnham, Life Enrichment Supervisor at Friendly Manor Nursing Home says families have been coming up to the window to see their loved ones and the residents wanted a better way to communicate with them.
The love messages were laminated and now hang on the fence of the Nursing Home for families to read.
