Teachers at Napanee District Secondary School (NDSS) are taking part in a planned one-day provincial strike by members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation . Upwards of 60 teachers will be taking to the picket line throughout the day.
Carol Chmay is a strike co-captain for Napanee District Secondary School and she says the government needs to start negotiating in good faith.
She goes on to say that recently they have been talking about class size increases.
Chmay mentioned that the large class sizes impact everyone; the teachers and students. She said in the last year alone 30 different elective classes have been dropped at NDSS due to cuts.
