Following a successful clinic trial alongside the Emergency Department at L&A County General Hospital, a new clinic is being set up in Greater Napanee. The Lenadco Access Clinic will be providing additional access to medical professionals for residents who may not have a family doctor. The new clinic, opening Monday, will be at 310 Bridge Street West and is set up to handle a variety of medical problems that need to be treated right away but are not considered true emergencies. This will take pressure off the emergency department which could result in shorter wait times. A presentation was made to Lennox and Addington County Council at their meeting last night regarding the clinic and an ask for $100,000 in one-time funds for access to primary care towards this clinic. A motion was carried at their meeting in support.
Examples of medial problems the clinic will cover:
· Coughs, colds, flu like symptoms
· Rashes, skin conditions
· Tick Bites
· Urinary symptoms
· Small cuts
· Ear and Eye issues
· Sprains and Strains
Clinic Hours:
• Monday to Friday 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Saturdays & Sundays 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Same Day Appointments can be scheduled in person at the clinic beginning at 1:30 pm on Monday to Friday and at 9:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays.
This clinic is digitally integrated with both the hospital and the community’s family doctors to enhance information sharing. This clinic is not a substitute for your primary care provider, but is a great resource when you need care and can’t get to your own PCP.
Examples of conditions which should wait be seen by your PCP:
• Narcotic prescriptions
• Insurance and Disability Forms
• Chronic Disease and Mental Health Follow-up
Examples of conditions which should be seen in ER: (true emergencies)
• Mental Health Crisis
• Chest pain or shortness of breath
• Stroke/Mini Stroke
• Severe Abdominal Pain

There are still members in the community that do not have access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner as a primary care provider (PCP). It is imperative that if you do not have a PCP, you must register with Health Care Connect Here or call at 1-800-445-1822 to get your name on the list for a family doctor.
