The 8th annual Quinte-Kingston Ride For Dad is this Saturday. Co-chair Clint Long says they like to change up the route each year: :28 The ride is a fundraiser for prostate cancer. The parade through Kingston begins at 9:30 am.

FRIENDS FOR LIFE WALK COMING UP SUNDAY

The annual Friends for Life Walk is coming up on Sunday. Local SPCA manager Judy O'Brien says there will be some entertainment for the walkers: :19 There will also be a fly ball team at the walk-a-thon at NDSS. To register visit the shelter on Richmond Blvd in Napanee.

OPP REPORTS TWO WEEKEND FATALITIES

Two people died on provincial roads this past long weekend. According to preliminary results from the OPP one pedestrian was killed in a motor vehicle collision, another person drowned while canoeing.

CITY ATTRACTION GETS NEW NAME

Kingston's Outdoor Aquatic Centre has a new name. Naming rights have been awarded to the Scott Environmental Group in exchange for $60,000 over 5 years. The waterpark with a 10-metre water slide, lazy river and toddler pool is expected to open for the summer June 24th.

NEIGHBOURLY DISPUTE ENDS IN CHARGES

A 24-year-old Belleville man is charged with uttering threats after an altercation with his neighbour. At about 6:00 Tuesday evening Belleville Police were called to a Station Street building where one man had threatened to stab another and damage his vehicle.

NO SHORTAGE OF CONSTRUCTION IN THE REGION

Lots of construction going on this time of year including repaving Highway 401 between Kingston and Napanee. The Ontario government is also widening the 401 in Kingston and repairing the bridge at Montreal Street. High 62 north of Belleville is getting an expansion.

CHARGES LAID IN EARLY MORNING RIDE PROGRAM

A couple of charges laid after a weekend RIDE program in Belleville. Not long after officers set up a RIDE check on North Front Street early Monday morning they stopped a 26-year-old Centre Hastings woman. She was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
