Staff at the new Village Green Long-Term Care Home in Greater Napanee held an information picket Tuesday, saying they want improvements to resident care after raising concerns with management for several months.
Sylvia OBrien, a longtime employee, said workers believe the new home opened before staff were fully prepared to provide the level of care residents deserve.
She said employees have concerns about staffing shortages, inexperienced workers, personal care, laundry and meal services.
OBrien said the demonstration was intended to inform the community and encourage change, not create conflict.
myFM has reached out to the Village Green management for comment, but they had not responded to the workers’ concerns at the time of publication.
